The Stephenson County Fair, one of the largest and most diverse county fairs in the state, will run July 10-15, 2012 and features live music, two days of national caliber tractor pulls, the popular demolition derby, youth night activities, free on-grounds entertainment, commercial exhibits, livestock shows, and lots of great food.
The Stephenson County Farm Bureau has a prominent presence at the fair with our "Farm Fun Zone" tent along the main east-west roadway, just across from the Pearl City Lions bingo trailer. Live farm animals, including baby chicks hatching onsite, are a popular attraction. There are lots of things for kids to do including the wildly popular Corn Trough filled with shelled corn and toys for kids to play with. We have the final public voting for our "Stephenson Scenes" photo contest, door prize drawings, special promotions, and much more. We also host the "Youth Ag Olympics" in front of the grandstand on Tuesday's Youth & Family Night, and our Young Leaders hold their annual Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull on Saturday afternoon in the Swine Show Ring.
