Meeting set to discuss HCC ag program

All individuals interested in discussions regarding the future direction and focus of the Highland Community College agriculture program are invited to participate in a meeting on Thursday April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Conference Center (second floor, Room H-201). With the process underway to employ a new ag instructor with the upcoming retirement of Jim Setterstrom, public input is being sought to help shape the direction of curriculum and program needs. St. Louis trip planned with Tri-State Travel

An enjoyable summertime getaway to St. Louis is being offered by the area Farm Bureaus in cooperation with Tri-State Travel on July 20-23, and we've scheduled a preview program on Tuesday April 29 at 7:30 p.m. here at the Farm Bureau. Jack Wideman will be here to share the details on this fun-filled excursion, and details can be found by clicking here.

Scholarship applications available

The Stephenson County Farm Bureau Foundation is pleased to again offer a number of $500 scholarships to members and dependents for the 2014-15 academic year. Applications are available online or at the FB office; click here for the College Level Scholarship Application (the deadline has passed for high school scholarships).

SCFB Holiday Hours

The SCFB office will be closed on Friday April 18 in observance of Good Friday. The office will also close early at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday April 17. We wish everyone a safe and joyous Easter!

Submit comments by April 18 on TMDL issue

Producers, landowners and others potentially impacted by Illinois EPA efforts to regulate Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) standards on waters in the Pecatonica River watershed are encouraged to study the draft report and submit any comments by April 18.
