Farm program meeting scheduled

SCFB and Stephenson County FSA will be hosting an informational meeting on Tuesday December 16 at 1 p.m. at the Farm Bureau in Freeport. FSA Director Tom Brooks will share complete details on the various program options and compare the choices that producers need to make in farm program selection as outlined in the new Farm Bill. "American Country Christmas" trip planned for November 2015

Area Farm Bureaus and Tri-State Travel have planned a terrific holiday trip, "American Country Christmas", scheduled for November 29-December 3, 2015. A preview program is planned for Tuesday January 20, 2015 at 7:15 p.m. at the Farm Bureau in Freeport, and you can click here to see the trip flyer with complete details.

Ireland/Scotland trip filling quickly!

Area county Farm Bureaus and Tri-State Travel have planned an amazing trip to Ireland and Scotland on July 20-31, 2015, and the trip is over half-full as of 11/19; click here to see the trip brochure and call (815) 232-3186 for more info! Space is limited to one 44-passenger coach, so don't delay! A second preview program will be held on Tuesday January 20 at 6:30 p.m. with Tri-State's Jack Wideman sharing the details of this fabulous trip.

Applications being accepted for 2015 Summer Program Assistant

We are now accepting applications for our 2015 Summer Program Assistant position - click here to see program details and click here for an application. Applicants will be scheduled for an interview at their earliest convenience following submittal of application, with the option of scheduling interviews over the Christmas break being a possibility. At-Large Director Opening

The SCFB Board of Directors will be filling a vacant director’s seat at the November 25 annual meeting as Randy Dornink will be retiring after 33 years on the board. Interested candidates for the 3-year term should preferably reside in the northeast part of the county (though not mandatory) and must be a voting member. A brief letter expressing interest and qualifications should be sent to the Stephenson County Farm Bureau, Attn. Bruce Johnson, 210 W. Spring Street, Freeport IL 61032 by Friday November 21. Office building for rent

The Stephenson County Farm Bureau has a nice office building for rent, adjacent to the FB building on the corner of Spring and Walnut Streets in Freeport. The building is around 2000 square feet and has seven nicely-sized rooms suitable for offices/conference rooms/workspace, with two restrooms, kitchen, closet, and foyer area along with an unfinished lower level with ample storage space. It has a covered carport outside the rear entrance and adjacent parking spaces, with ample parking across the street in the city lot.
