At-Large Director Opening

The SCFB Board of Directors will be filling a vacant director’s seat at the November 25 annual meeting as Randy Dornink will be retiring after 33 years on the board. Interested candidates for the 3-year term should preferably reside in the northeast part of the county (though not mandatory) and must be a voting member. A brief letter expressing interest and qualifications should be sent to the Stephenson County Farm Bureau, Attn. Bruce Johnson, 210 W. Spring Street, Freeport IL 61032 by Friday November 21. Family portrait program scheduled

We are pleased to offer an outstanding opportunity for Stephenson County Farm Bureau members to have professional family portraits taken this fall as Lifetouch Photography will be here on November 13-15. Sittings will be scheduled from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, and you can self-schedule your appointment by clicking here or you can call the Farm Bureau office at (815) 232-3186.

Office building for rent

The Stephenson County Farm Bureau has a nice office building for rent, adjacent to the FB building on the corner of Spring and Walnut Streets in Freeport. The building is around 2000 square feet and has seven nicely-sized rooms suitable for offices/conference rooms/workspace, with two restrooms, kitchen, closet, and foyer area along with an unfinished lower level with ample storage space. It has a covered carport outside the rear entrance and adjacent parking spaces, with ample parking across the street in the city lot.

Ireland/Scotland Trip filling quickly!

Ron Bremmer named Master Farmer

Pearl City farmer Ron Bremmer has been named one of the four Master Farmers for 2014 by Prairie Farmer Magazine, one of the most prestigious awards presented in the farming community in Illinois. Ron farms in partnership with his wife Karen and their sons Chad (Deb) and Ross (Melanie) and their families, with daughter Carmen employed in an agribusiness career. Ron was nominated by SCFB manager Bruce Johnson and joins several other local winners including Doug Scheider (2013), Doug & Tom Block (2009), Dennis Endress (1995), I.
